January 24, 2012 – We are proud to announce the launch of FUEL Lighting Systems.

FUEL Lighting Systems, which stands for “the Future of Event Lighting”, is the lighting R&D division of Boston Uplights that will be responsible for developing and launching cutting edge wireless light systems to the wedding and special event markets.

FUEL Lighting Systems will develop and launch a new generation of LED wireless lights that will change the way event planners, venue owners, hotels and lighting professionals, envision and design events. As LED lighting systems continue to penetrate the special event markets, becoming more powerful with every new version, we have come to believe and understand that brightness alone is simply not enough. Over the past 5 years and almost 1000 events utilizing wireless lighting systems, Boston Uplights has emerged as a leader in the creative world of event lighting and design. Harnessing our extensive experience, which includes 20 years of Optical and Lighting Design knowledge, we felt it was time to introduce to the world the core concept we have built our entire thought process around… integration.

INTEGRATION… At the center of the FUEL concept is how our light systems integrate into your world. Looking at the landscape of the event industry, it becomes quickly obvious that many light systems on the market were never meant to be used in todays more refined event settings. Country Clubs, Estates, Homes, high-end Hotels and Resorts, are simply too beautiful to use just any black box light . It also became obvious that producing a light system that has great light output, is equal to the importance of making the light itself cosmetically beautiful so it can blend into any level of setting. What resulted from our demand for a more refined looking light system, became the core concept and foundation we built FUEL Lighting on. The concept that our light systems are designed to look beautiful, feel beautiful when handled, and also project the highest quality light beam is at the heart of everything we envision and develop.

We can’t express enough how excited we are to launch this new division and to introduce to the world what we believe is the next evolution of LED Wireless Light Systems…. FUEL Lighting Systems

Here is where it all begins… The first in a series of innovations.

The “Angle Light System”, the world’s first wireless highlight system, is the first in a series of lights FUEL will be launching. This is not simply a replacement for the current “pin-spot” widely used at many events, this is a new way of lighting anything and everything that should be highlighted. The ability to project a narrow warm-colored light beam with high color quality, helping to illuminate florals, food stations, tables, ceremony isles and chairs etc with a wireless battery operated micro-light is now a reality.

The design of the Angle Light System is unique in every way you can imagine. The size, quality of build, beautiful light/color output, and the simple yet very versatile functionality will open creative doors that were simply not there prior to this system. Essentially, this light is in a class of it’s own, and will be responsible for launching a whole new trend toward better highlighting in more creative ways than ever thought possible.

The Angle Light System, along with all future FUEL Lighting Systems will be sold on our retail site www.fuellighting.com

Here are a few images of the working prototypes we have been using. The final version will be available for sale with pre-orders being taken as soon as a few weeks from now. If you have questions regarding the rental, purchase, or how our Boston Uplights Division can integrate this amazing new system at your event, please email us at sales@fuellighting.com

One wedding was at the Boston Park Plaza which I posted images of when we first announced the launch of the system. We are excited to share this great review that was recently posted on the Knot about this particular wedding. We don’t normally repost reviews, but we made this one exception in hope that it will help future couples and clients better understand the visual impact and value of such an innovative new lighting capability.

Here you go…

————————————-

A fairytale wedding, 9/17/11 posted 10/14/2011

Before planning a wedding, I had no idea about lighting and how much of a difference it can make. Although my venue was beautiful, it would not have been the same without the expertise of Boston Uplights. I didn’t know a lot about lighting so I left it in the hands of Paul. I walked into the most beautiful and exquisite ballroom I had ever seen. Two technicians stayed throughout the entire wedding to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were able to pinspot 25 centerpieces when we were originally told from other vendors we would not be able to do that. Even more impressive was the barely there equipment!!! Nearly all of our guests commented on how beautiful the ballroom was and asked if it was always lit in this way. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Paul and his staff took care of everything. They were amazing to work with and more than reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone who wants top notch service!

————————————–

We can proudly say the “Angle Light” System has changed how we design and light events. It is hard to describe the many ways this new wireless light system will help make your event/lighting design different and in some cases… possible, but the comments highlighted in red are a great way to demonstrate how couples with no lighting knowledge will be affected by this new capability. The Angle Light System has forever changed how Jennifer and Patrick will remember their day, which for us is more exciting than you could ever imagine.

We would like to thank Jennifer and Patrick for choosing us as their Lighting Design Company and for such a great review. Congratulations on having such an amazing day!

Here are a few images of their wedding… These images show our wireless “Angle Light” highlighting each table centerpiece, wireless Uplighting for the edge of the ballroom, and texture projection to highlight the dance floor which was created by a more traditional high-powered spotlight system.

Love this image! Highlighting the dance floor with a soft texture just looks amazing and romantic.

We have chosen this great event to debut our new “Angle Light” Wireless Highlight System to thundreds of today’s most creative event professionals.

We will have a series of our working prototypes on-hand to look at, as well as some of our unique adapters we are designing to help integrate the system into different venues and events throughout the country. We are excited to get useful feedback from event designers, planners and technical professionals as to how they will utilize this newly developed lighting innovation.

We look forward to meeting all of you!

Update… Here is an image of our expo booth. We were able to demonstrate our Angle Light System in many ways. Notice the lights are magnetically attached to the railing behind the booth, as well as the way we stood them on end with a metal coaster which would work well to uplight decor elements such as small trees and larger centerpiece etc.

We had such a great time speaking with industry professionals about the creative possibilities of this innovative new lighting product. Thanks again to everyone who stopped by to get a first-hand look at the world’s first wireless highlight system.

Technology Update – When we launched our new Wireless Highlight System, we made a bold statement and promise that it would change the landscape of the wedding and event industry. This was no small statement to make, but we believed it was the only way to accurately describe the truly amazing capabilities of our “Angle Light System”.

Let’s take a look at examples of two Boston hotels, both with very different needs in terms of set-up and our ability to integrate the Angle Light System directly into the venue architecture.

Here is an image of this weekend’s event at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston. Take a close look at not only the quality of the highlighted centerpieces, but the way in-which we integrated the Angle Light System into the hotels chandelier system. If it wasn’t for the tiny size and light weight design of each light this would simply be impossible. This is the ultimate example of what we envisioned when designing this system. No stands to cover up, no wires to run across the ceiling etc. This is a technological and creative achievement and we are proud to be the innovators of this new lighting capability.

Check this second amazing example out below... The light weight and balanced design of each fixture allowed us to use ” Command Strips” to attach the light directly to the balcony and door framing. Yes… I said “command strips”! You know, the same double-stick foam tape used to hang a picture!

Within 30 minutes, we had the lights in place and ready to focus, and at the end of the night with a quick pull on the command strip the fixture released without damaging the surface of the venue. Oh, and you must be wondering how we focused the light once it was in place? Well, we haven’t shown you all the amazing features we have designed-in just yet, but the secret is in the gooseneck and unique shape of the light head.

Take a close look at at the light head… notice the interesting shape? That shape was specifically designed with the purpose of utilizing our custom “focusing tool” that is attached to the tip of a pole. Within seconds we can reach up, grab-on and adjust the light to the exact position we want. This “no ladder” focusing system allows for simple, fast and accurate adjustments. Due to the well thought-out gooseneck design and unique light head shape, we can grab onto the fixture and focus in any direction, even within seconds of the doors opening to the event. Have we blown your minds yet? This is only the beginning!

Today, September 22, 2011, is the day we launch what will soon be known as one of the most innovative new lighting systems ever introduced to the wedding and special event markets. What was once impossible is now a reality and we are proud to be the driving creative force behind this amazing innovation.

Here are some key points as to why the “Angle Light System” is about to change how we light your event, and why other event professionals are going to build their business entirely around this new lighting technology..

1. The Boston Uplights Angle Light System is the first battery operated and remote control highlight system ever developed… ever! That means no more wires, no more taping down wires, no more huge cases to place lights and wires in, and no more huge trucks to hall the big cases that hold all the big lights and heavy cable, and last but not least, no more long complex set-up/break-downs that affect how the venues function. In fact, it’s going to change just about everything you have ever known or thought was possible when it comes to highlighting an event.

2. Designed to look beautiful… With traditional lighting you have the added expense and task of covering the entire system with sheers/drape just so they can blend into your event space or ballroom. Not needed with the Angle Light System since they were designed from the start as truly beautiful!

3. Micro in size… After two years of research and development we were able to reduce the weight of each light below one pound which includes the built-in battery and electronics system. This tiny form-factor makes it possible to install the system into very tight and unique spaces. We then combined this micro-light with a magnetic mounting base bringing its installation flexibility to a whole new level.

4. With light, control is everything!… We knew from the start that one of the disadvantages of traditional light systems is they are not dimmable unless you run an enormous amount of power/control cable to connect each light to a dimming system. So to insure we are able to create the perfect light level for each event, and also maintain the clutter-free design we had envisioned, we incorporated a wireless dimming system into each light. Simple, yet beautiful!

5. Power to spare… Taking into account the average event length, we developed the Lithium battery system to power the LED at full power for over 10 hours. In many cases, the lights will be dimmed after the first few hours of your event to approximately 10-50% making the batteries last for many hours longer. The batteries can be recharged after each event with the custom charging system that is designed to be used with each light.

6. Focus with ease… This is where the system got its name “Angle Light”. Perfect focus is critical when you are aiming a narrow beam of light at a 12 inch diameter centerpiece 30 feet away. So to help make this easy we designed into each fixture a ball-joint goose neck allowing you to focus the light-head over a 200deg range of motion. The ball joint system allows for repeatable accuracy unlike traditional goosenecks that can bounce back once you position the light. The ball joint system keeps the light-head exactly where you place it, giving it the unique ability to be focused without moving the entire fixture body.

7. Beautiful Optics / Beautiful Atmosphere… One of the most complex challenges of the design was the ability to get an LED light source to project a very narrow and glare-free beam of light over a long distance. But we achieved just that, and it looks stunning!

Starting with accurate warm-white light from a cutting edge LED, we combined that LED with a custom designed optical lens system, allowing us to create the world’s most beautiful LED light system specifically designed to highlight live events. This is one of our greatest achievements since the design had to start with the optics to even have a chance at being accepted as a beautiful highlight system.

8. Custom Light Stands… You can’t build a light system as beautiful as a Mac Computer, and then slap it onto a traditional ugly light stand. So we designed a custom stand system that compliments the beauty of the light itself, making sure that when utilized together it is seen as a truly stunning system that is so slick and thin it stands almost unnoticed. It is such a refined and finished looking system it simply blends into any level of atmosphere you place it.

9. Adapters, adapters and more adapters… Here is where all our efforts to make the system small and easy to install become worth it. The way we can attach our light system to different adapters will spawn a whole new level of event design. Not only is the base magnetic, but it has a threaded whole allowing you to mount various adapters on. Custom adapters for drop ceilings, awning systems, glass railings, light stands, tents, floors, etc will be created by us or by the professionals that purchase this system. This level of flexibility will allow the Angle Light System to be integrated into so many events in so many ways, we truly expect a new generation of designs to emerge from it capabilities.

10. Light Filters… We designed the front of the light to hold custom circular color gel filters. Our goal was to blend old school design tools such as colored filters with cutting edge new light sources. The color filters will allow us to highlight a table in a crisp blue accent, or very warm amber, or even a soft peach color that accents your floral arrangement making it jump off the table in a subtle but elegant way. Our ability to create new types of settings with the use of color will be truly stunning.

When will it be available?

It is currently available to be reserved as part of your lighting package through the Event Design Division of Boston Uplights. We will soon be taking pre-orders and begin selling the system to select designers and companies across the US, and then as we ramp up production we will expand our selling base and offer it to everyone who wants to invest in this amazing system.

Straight rentals of the system will be available through Boston Uplights in the future so please inquire if interested.

For Purchase… We are currently still working on our retail website, so please contact us directly through email ( info@bostonuplights.com ) to inquire and get more details about the system. We will post here when the retail website has launched making it much easier to see, read about and purchase this amazing system.

Thank you for reading; we look forward to your feedback, calls and emails regarding our new Angle Light Wireless Highlight System.

Sincerely,

Paul Therrien ( Lighting Designer/Light System Developer )

Now for some images….

Boston Park Plaza Hotel…26 Tables to highlight. Read how we did this…

We were able to magnetically attach to their balcony railing system. No stands needed allowing for a super-clean install that looked as if they were built into the venue design. Also… Notice the range of focus the light head is able to be angled to? This allowed us to highlight a table directly below which would not normally be possible if the lights were on stands further back in the balcony.

I think this image pretty much says it all. Notice how focused the light is, not spilling onto the table? Drama comes from contrast and contrast is created when light is well controlled. Centerpieces such as these need to be highlighted to make the most of how amazing they are. They deserve to be seen throughout the entire event… and now they can be thanks to this innovative system.

Lighting installed into a venue for a live event such as this has never looked more clean, professional and truly integrated. This is so astonishing, this almost brought a tear to my eye when we placed these lights for the first time. I can only imagine the countless events that will benefit by this new light system, not only at the Boston Park Plaza, but all over the world.

Seaport Hotel Boston… Magnetically attached to ceiling air duct system. Once again no stands needed. This is not only amazing to see happen, but this made something possible in a space that has never been possible before. This is the beginning of a new level of lighting design integration. You no longer need to accept the industrial look of theatrical lighting that is currently the standard light systems used by many companies, the Angle Light System has been designed to seemlessly blend with any decor or space.

Thanks again for checking out our blog. More amazing images will soon be available. Keep checking in or call for more info.

We are proud to announce the development of the lighting industries first Wireless Highlight System. Given the name “Angle Light” due to its unusual ability to quickly and easily be focused in any direction, this innovative new Wireless LED Highlight System will launch a whole new segment and capability in the event lighting industry.

Our goal was not to simply mimic other types of light systems such as the “pin-spot” which has been used for years to illuminate tables and mirror balls, but to create an entirely new “way” of highlighting anything and everything that matters at your event. This new system was imagined, designed and developed by Boston Uplights to meet a very exacting set of goals in terms of how it looks, functions, and even how it is transported and installed into ballrooms and settings. Every aspect of the system from the custom designed light stand that is truly innovative with it’s variable weight system, to various mounting options that will open the door to a whole new world of uses, to the modular lens system which will allow you to focus and adapt the light beam to your exact needs, was developed to give you unlimited creative use of each light in every setting.

Soon we will be demonstrating this innovative system to a panel of highly respected event specialists in the industry. For the first time they will have the ability to think outside the box in terms of what “should” be highlighted, instead of who can afford highlighting, or what venue can accommodate lighting. The ability for this system to be adapted to each event has created a whole new level of design options. We are confident that once creative professionals see and experience this new lighting concept it will launch a new and amazing wave of lighting ideas affectively changing the way you see, experience and remember your next wedding or event.

If you are a leader in your profession such as Photography, Catering, Wedding Planning, Venue Manager/Owner, Videographer, Floral Design, or Cake Design, we are now pulling together the industry panel we mentioned above. This meeting will be a casual cocktail type info-meeting where you will see the system in action and get to handle and evaluate it on every level. Email us if you are interested in being part this ground breaking launch.

Soon after the launch and professional evaluation, we will begin demonstrating the system in our office to potential clients who could use it at their event as well as professional clients who may want to purchase the system. We are confident it will be available for use at your event in the coming months, and available for purchase soon after.

Here are some details on the design….

1. Totally wireless design, battery operated as well as wireless dimming and control.

2. Beautifully designed system… Anodized aluminum was used for the stands and light system which makes it easy to incorporate into any level of ballroom without having to cover with sheers.

3. The light was designed as a micro-system… each light is less than one pound and is only inches big.

4. Each light is an individual system… Each light includes its own battery and wireless system making it possible to group them or use a single light at any time.

5. The light stand is unique in many ways… We have developed the first “modular” light stand. To make it easy to transport and set up, we have made the base lightweight with the ability to slide weights into the stand base making it more secure when needed. For low mounting of 8-10 feet you may not need any weights at all making it a lightweight transport.

6. The light stands will also have the ability to transform into a high-top table. This will allow the stands to be placed in more areas at events with the ability for them to become part of the decor while also allowing each area to be highlighted more affectively.

7. You will have the ability to change the way in-which you mount each light…. A threaded mounting hole allows you to attach different magnets for drop ceilings or steel grids, clamps for different light stands, base plates that allow them to sit on a floor and uplights small trees or large centerpieces, and hook clamps that allow them to hang from awning etc. Due to their light weight design the possibilities are truly endless.

8. The LED we chose will project a beautiful warm-white color similar to incandescent light. The goal was to create a softly highlighted event so the color quality of the LED was critical.

9. Optics… One of the first obstacles we had to overcome was the way we wanted to highlight each table, food station etc. For dinner tables we wanted a very controlled tight spot light to highlight the centerpiece without overpowering the rest of the table, but for food stations we wanted a softer beam that highlighted but did not look too washed out. This was very hard to achieve since we are sometimes lighting tables from 30 feet away. We were able to achieve this goal with a new class of optics that we built into a removable and adjustable lens cap. With the swap of a lens you have the ability to adapt the light beam to what you are lighting. This gives you ultimate control over the quality of the “look” you can create at each event.

10. Dimming… This doesn’t seem like a big deal until you start to understand the need and how to use it. In almost all cases we have experienced pin-spotting and highlighting at events to be way too bright and harsh, especially for photographs. The ability for us to fade the intensity down as the room gets darker makes this a true “highlight” system that has a refined feel and look to it. You are no longer just throwing light at an object, you have control over how intense the highlighting is which is the key to a beautiful and balanced lighted space.

11. Adjustable focus of each light… The core of the “Angle Light” concept is its ability to be focused toward any table or object quickly and easily. This innovative system allows you to mount the lights on their stand, ceiling etc…. wait for the venue to finalize table placement, and then with a unique focusing pole you can simply reach up and adjust the light to it’s final position. The added ability for you to fine-tune the beam placement, or to change the focus of each light up to seconds before guests enter the space (and without ladders) is a game changer in terms of low stress flexibility and adaptability.

12. Think of the possibilities… Sit back and think of what is about to happen when we launch this system. Think of all the events and challenging situations that you would like to include highlighting but due to power constraints, quality of look, budget, venue limitations etc, you could not. Examples would be Churches, outdoor dusk ceremonies, tented events, beach and pool parties, any ballroom that does not have built-in spot lights, food stations, tables and floral centerpeieces, cakes, dance floors, art exhibits, podiums, kiosks, and backyard events of any level. We have designed this system to adapt to every known challenge we have faced in the event industry.

These are just a few of the unique features of this innovative industry changing “system”. We are proud to be the leaders in developing this new concept and look forward to watching the wedding and event industry transform as we introduce the “Angle Light” System to the world.

Check back often for more updates and details!

This past weekend was a great ending to a great year. Not only was it NYE, but I can honestly say this was also one of our most spectacular weddings.

The goal was to create a wintry cold feel, but with a warm touch. To achieve this look, we absolutely needed to create layers of light, color and shape. But this was not easy since the space was extremely limited in size and the finished look had to be visually perfect in terms of how natural and transparent our lighting looked once installed.

The combination of uplighting, down-lighting and highlighting, as well as the use of candlelight to add the much needed organic feel, was designed in such a way as to blend seamlessly with the other decor elements as well as the space itself. With the help of Winston Flowers who added drama with their 12′ custom trees, we were able to create the wintry silhouette that became the centerpiece to the entire design. What started out as a simple section of a ballroom, was transformed into a beautifully soft and romantic setting that can only be truly appreciated when you experience it first-hand as a guest.

But since only a few had the opportunity to experience it live, here are a few images I captured of the ceremony. The reception following was equally amazing, and the space you see here was later transformed into a stunning desert station you would have to see to believe.

Imagine as the doors open, and you approach the end of the isle to walk down … your eyes lock in on this? I swear I never wanted to leave this room.

We are proud to announce that Boston Uplights was part of 4 weddings on their list of favorites. We normally never announce when we are mentioned or highlighted in magazines, but as we were getting word from the Knot that we were the lighting providers for not just one, but 4 weddings in the same issue, we were so surprised and happy we thought it was worthy news.

The best part is that 4 of our brides had such spectacular weddings they have been recognized simultaneously in one issue. I try to mention often in my blog how many beautiful weddings we are part of, and how truly creative many of our brides are, but having 4 of our weddings highlighted at one time.. I guess that says it all!

Congratulations to all our past couples who had their weddings highlighted. It must be crazy exciting to see YOUR wedding be the focus in a nationally recognized magazine.

This year has been truly amazing. To say that 2010 was pivotal for us is an understatement. We have had the privilege of lighting almost 200 weddings this year exposing us to many new venues, as well as technological lighting challenges we were determined and able to overcome. Our relentless drive to solve lighting design problems that have prevented many of you from having great lighting at your event, has allowed us to expand our capabilities well beyond “uplighting” effectively changing every aspect of how weddings and events are planned, budgeted for…. envisioned.

Our goal for 2010 was to create and introduce a totally new series of lighting concepts that reinvent what a beautiful and refined event looks like. We believe we have achieved our goal and are now focusing on 2011 and beyond. Our new future goal is simple… we want to visually and emotionally blow your doors off. We want to surprise you with innovation, and amaze you with refinement. When you meet with us, we want your first thought to be… “I never new this was possible”, and your second thought should be… “but now that I do know … this changes everything!”

To cap off the year I wanted to post a few of my favorite 2010 images that demonstrate how visually powerful a well thought-out design can be. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed lighting & capturing them.

We are excited and proud to announce that today is the day we unveil our newest Lighting Innovations that will be at the center of many amazing events in the upcoming years. We believe these newly developed light systems and concepts will redefine your view of what’s possible, forever changing every aspect of how you envision your day.

Over the past two years we have aggressively been researching and developing a series of custom lighting products and concepts that will change the way weddings and special events will be viewed and experienced. From every possible visual angle… your perspective, your expectation, and your dreams of how you want your wedding or event to be remembered… is all about to change.

After today we will begin a series of launches that will include open houses, seminars and private meetings with each client and couple. The experience of seeing it “live” will be amazing, and from this personal experience you will have a new level of understanding and excitement as to how cutting edge lighting design and technology will transform your event.

Our goal has always been to invent a new level of lighting service and technology that would allow us to create highly refined, sophisticated, yet fun atmospheres that are truly affordable and customizable. We achieved this goal when first launching our “totally wireless” lighting company in 2007, and have once again set out to push beyond what’s possible by developing this new series lighting systems and design concepts. Here is the list of “what’s new” in the world of Boston Uplights.

Introducing our new “Design Showroom“ – We are just a few weeks away from unveiling our new design showroom. This new space, with it’s 18′ ceilings, will allow us to demonstrate our newest lighting technologies and concepts with full visual impact. The ability for us to create a totally adaptable sense of height and perspective will be amazing! Everyone from brides, to wedding planners, to venue managers will all be able to envision how our lighting concepts will truly impact your event and space.

If you are an industry professional, look forward to our soon-to-be-announced “open house” where you will get a chance to experience our new space first hand! If you are a future client of ours, all you have to do is set up an appointment to visit and talk about your day. We look forward to your visit!

Boston Uplights Wireless “Micro” Light – As many of you know, our core concept is to add lighting and color to a space without actually seeing the light system. Total integration into a space, as if it was built into the venue or setting is our constant focus. So it is a natural step forward for us to introduce the newest and most innovative lighting technologies that help expand and push forward this core concept. Here is a list of “amazing” new concepts that are now possible with this system…

Color-Changing Paper Lantern Designs - Imagine … Above you are a series of paper lanterns, maybe they are all throughout your tent, or just over the dance floor in your ballroom. They have a soft warm glow coming from within… The perfect feel and look you were going for. But as the night changes from formal to fun, what was once a perfectly designed decor light element has now faded to a new series of colors transforming it into a cutting edge new dynamic light system. We are proud to introduce the first in a series of concepts that truly blends the elegance of real paper lanterns, and the visual impact of programmable LED lights, to become the first “Elegant Effects” lighting package we offer. When you see this new innovation, you will be truly mesmerized by how it captures your attention but remains so beautiful.

Dance Floor Lighting - Due to our advanced custom light hanging systems, we are now offering a totally new wireless “down light” system for dance floors. This is an extension of our new “Elegant Effects” packages now available for 2011. What is so amazing about this system?

Here is the visual… At first glance this system will look like a series of mini pendent lights hanging in a grid or random formation above a dance floor, but will simply be our advanced light system hidden within a beautiful decor element. What starts out as a warm spot light system that highlights the dance floor, will transform into a colorful down light system that can fade and change to new colors adapting to your ever-changing “live” event below. This is not just a different idea.. this is a totally new capability that will fill your dark dance floor with just the right amount of light and color making it the perfect setting to dance under. Imagine the photos that will be captured!

Note…This system cannot be installed in all venues since we are dependent on the type of ceiling we are working with, please call for more details!

This is just a sampling of the new concepts we have developed with our new “Micro” Light System. If you are a florist, event planner, venue manager or newly engaged couple wanting a new “look” for your day, we invite you to set up an appointment to see this new system in action. We look forward to helping you design your event!

Boston Uplights ” Wireless Pin-Spot” Light System - For two years we have been researching the most cutting edge technologies to develop and bring together what will soon be known as the worlds first battery operated and wireless pin-spot system. This is truly a game-changer in regards to where, when and how we can highlight dinner tables, food stations, dance floors, indoor/outdoor ceremonies, and anything else that requires a perfectly warm soft light system to highlight it. Here are the amazing details on this newly designed light system that was conceived from the ground up by us…..

For perfect pin-spotting two types of custom light stands had to be designed…

Light Stand option #1 – The priority was to create a light stand that could be installed into a ballroom, but would not dominate the room or look ugly. We have designed a light stand that is only 1 inch in diameter but will be strong enough to hang 4 pin-spots as high as 15′ in the air above tables. Our goal… We wanted this stand to look visually transparent in a ballroom maintaining our core concept of “see light” but not the lights themselves.

Light Stand Option #2 - To pin-spot dinner tables perfect you need to get the lights as high and directly above as you can to tables. Since this system is “stand” based, I need to in some cases place stands at different points down the center of the ballroom or at least not along the walls. Because of this I had to think outside the box and design a stand that could blend into your event. What came from this research was the first light stand that is also a table. Our ability to make use of a light stand by transforming it into a small table allows us to seamlessly place it at the corners of your dance floor or down the center of your ballroom, or even in the middle of a field to highlight cocktail hour etc.

Now for the Pin-Spot System! - To stay in-line with our company concept of all-wireless systems, we have developed the worlds first battery operated pin-spot system. As with all our wireless lights, this system allows for total creative freedom since we can place each light stand/system where needed with no regard to running power cable, covering up ugly lights etc. This system was built from the ground up as a small, sleek, yet powerful and beautiful light system perfectly designed to highlight indoor and outdoor events of all kinds. Imagine for a moment the possibilities for this new system! Imagine for a moment how much less labor, time, and expense it will be to install this advanced system into your venue space. Now imagine from this innovation how many couples will be able to suddenly afford the most amazing high-end look you can imagine for your day! This is truly groundbreaking and we are proud to say it is now possible exclusively from us. This new system will be available for demo in the coming weeks, and available to reserve for all 2011 events.

Boston Uplights “Digital Texture“ – Starting in 2011 our amazing digital monogram system will be expanded upon allowing for a new level of ”Full Space” texture projection. This system takes the idea of integrating a personal element, such as a monogram, to a whole new visual level. For the first time, we will be able to take graphic elements from your already designed invitations etc, and create artistic images that can be projected as digital art on your dance floor, ceiling, tent, ceremony isle etc. What can we say… this is like projecting a piece of your personality right into your space! This is a perfect blend of creativity through the use of advanced technology! This is the start of something amazing!

Boston Uplights “Micro Lift”- This is one of the most revolutionary decor/lighting technologies we could ever design and imagine. Why, because even though this technology has been used on a massive scale it has never been considered by the rest of the world as a needed technology on a micro scale. That is where our creativity and understanding of the lighting industry comes into play. Our ability to think forward of what’s currently possible, and imagine what would change the landscape of the lighting industry is what we want to be known for. Here are the details…

The “Micro Lift” System - Introducing the worlds first wireless “micro light lift system”. The concept and design goal… Imagine the beauty of hanging paper lanterns, pendent lights, flowers or sheers above your dance floor or throughout your venue. Keeping that beautiful look in mind… Now imagine if you could wirelessly program these decor elements to move up and down at the touch of a button? What if… What if you could reposition the lanterns to be at one height during your first dance, and then smoothly move back into a higher position when your dance is complete? Imagine the dynamic and visual possibilities! Imagine how we will have at our finger tips the power to transform your space by changing the height, shape and design of how hanging elements appear throughout your space. Just imagine……. we did, and now it’s possible! Look for it in 2011!

Oh, and by the way, refer back to our “Micro Light” and imagine for one more second what it would look like if the lanterns were changing color at the same time they were repositioning! Ok, my mind is about to explode. The limitless and amazing atmospheres these new systems will allow us to create are not only unique, they are in the realm of never before possible which will make each event we do look modern, fresh and completely beautiful on a whole new level.

This is it for now! Thank you for reading our Technology and Innovations Update. We look forward to hearing from you about your day!

Sincerely,

Paul Therrien ( Lighting Design/Owner )
