At the end of 2007, a concept I had envisioned for 8 years prior finally became possible. That idea was to create a new type of lighting company that focused entirely on the wedding industry, utilizing the newest wireless technology and offering a whole new level of capability and creativity to brides and venues. It was a concept I had dreamed of and had planned for and was very aware of what I wanted to create. We are not talking about just a simple idea of uplighting. It was way more then that!
From that moment the Boston Uplights company was formed we new we were cutting a new path that would quickly spread. The idea that every concept, as well as every light we own, would be based on battery operated and wireless technology was cutting edge. We searched not only throughout the country, but throughout the world, and can say with honesty we were the first to develop a company entirely on these bases.
But this was only the first step… Uplighting is absolutely beautiful, but in its base form was not complex to understand. So the ability for other companies to copy the idea and start offering seemingly similar services was an obvious next phase we anticipated. So our goal from the very beginning has been to perfect what we specialize in, and then create a series of new services that break design barriers and change what is possible to offer today’s smarter more educated bride.
Over the past 1.5 years, we have been lucky enough to light almost 200 weddings. That level of experience, combined with years of lighting design experience has allowed us to vastly expand our capabilities as well as create a new series of lighting concepts once again changing the wedding design landscape.

Here are the “Firsts” we are proud of…
All Wireless… The first lighting company based entirely on battery operated and wireless technology.
Fast Set-Up…The first to offer lighting packages that can be set-up within minutes instead of hours, greatly reducing package and labor costs, as well as eliminating the need to reserve the ballroom for the entire day.
Centerpiece Lights…The first to offer wireless LED Centerpiece Uplights that are capable of being programmed to any color allowing your centerpiece to stay color-coordinated with the uplighting throughout the venue.
Full-Color Projection…The first to offer full-color monogram “image” projection services for the wedding industry instead of the basic stencil-like monograms typically offered.
LED Light System… The first company world-wide to develop a custom battery powered LED light system to be mounted inside of hanging paper lanterns and other shaded systems. This special LED system can project light 360deg exactly like a regular light bulb, but has the ability to change color by mounting a filter system over the light source changing it’s color to different hues that allows us to create a custom look and feel.
Hanging System… The first company world-wide to develop a special system that allows us to hang paper lanterns in almost any venue without the use of ladders. Parts of this new system have been installed in tents located at Bradford Country Club and Turner Hill Estate, allowing us to hang lanterns and votive candles with a super-clean appearance in a fraction of the time of other companies.
Candlelight… The first company in the country to offer a new candlelight LED system that is so realistic is can be mixed in with real candles without being detected as fake. This system is also water proof offering a new level of options not possible with regular candlelight. Truly groundbreaking!
This is just the start of something amazing that we fully intend to expand upon. The lighting world is not new, but a lighting company that focuses all of its concepts, technologies and creativity on the wedding industry is groundbreaking as well as long awaited.
We at Boston Uplights are proud to say we specialize in exactly what you need us to specialize in… Lighting. We do not offer DJ services, photography, limousines etc etc etc. We think, eat and breath lighting and we hope it shows in every conversation, concept and final design we offer you.
